Recent research has shown that pennywort may have potential therapeutic benefits for a wide range of health conditions.
A study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (Kuo and Chen, 2018) found that a standardized extract of pennywort was able to reduce symptoms of anxiety and improve cognitive function in rats.
Another study, published in the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology (Bhattacharya et al., 2000), found that a combination of pennywort and other herbs was effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression in human participants.
In addition to its potential benefits for mental health, pennywort has also been found to have anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties (Rao et al., 2015).
A study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology reported that a cream containing pennywort extract was effective in improving symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, a condition characterized by inflammation and poor circulation in the legs.Overall, while more research is needed to fully understand the therapeutic potential of pennywort, these studies suggest that it may be a promising natural remedy for a variety of health conditions.
